The Bachelor Program in Optometry and Visual Sciences, part of the Faculty of Medical Technical Sciences, is dedicated to preparing future optometrists with the clinical expertise, scientific knowledge, and ethical commitment required to preserve and enhance visual health. As essential members of the healthcare system, optometrists play a crucial role in the early detection, diagnosis, and management of eye conditions and visual disorders.

This program responds to the growing need for specialized eye care professionals capable of integrating modern diagnostic technologies with personalized patient care. Students receive a comprehensive education that bridges theory and clinical practice, enabling them to contribute effectively to both the diagnosis and non-invasive treatment of visual impairments.

Over the course of three years, students are trained in advanced examination techniques and visual correction methods, gaining practical experience through hands-on sessions and clinical rotations in partnering hospitals, eye clinics, and vision care centers. Areas of study include ocular anatomy and physiology, optics, visual neuroscience, refractive techniques, contact lens application, low vision rehabilitation, and screening for systemic diseases with ocular manifestations.

In addition to core clinical training, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on patient communication, problem-solving, and evidence-based practice. Students are also encouraged to participate in research and public health initiatives related to vision science and preventive eye care.

Graduates of the Optometry and Visual Sciences program are fully equipped to provide high-quality primary eye care services and collaborate within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. They are prepared for employment in private practices, hospitals, vision therapy clinics, optical centers, and public health organizations—both within the country and abroad. With their strong clinical foundation and patient-centered approach, they are also well-positioned to pursue advanced studies or contribute to academic and research advancements in the field of vision care.

Graduates of this program can easily work in any modern eye clinic and will be able to work as:
