Prof.Assoc.Dr. Fatbardha Kadiu is a Professor of Economics at Western Balkans University. She has an experience in higher education institution of more than 17 years.
She is editor member of many journals in economics and business which are open access and peer-reviewed. She has served as member of parliament in the committee of Economy and Finance in Albania, as adviser of Mayor, Durres city focused on economic activities of the government. In addition to being researcher and co-researcher on numerous research paper and policy papers she is the coordinator for Albania of BluNew Economy and Sustainable solutions for Mediterrian countries founded by EU, IPA-Interreg.
Her last research and publishing are focused on health economics, innovation on health sector and social & health contribution system in the region.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in economics (2002) from Ege University, Turkey under the tutelage of the Professor Nese Kumral. Kadiu continued her post graduate studies in Georgetown University, USA " Strategic Planning of Institution" and Martin School of Public Administration, Kentucky University for " Financial Management of Public Institutions".
After brief stints as a postgraduate fellow at the Georgetown University Fatbardha Kadiu received her Ph.D. in Economics and Fiscal Policy from the University of Aleksander Moisiu under the mentorship of Prof.Esmeralda Uruci and Prof. Mithat Mema in 2012. Mrs. Kadiu got her title of Prof.Assoc.Dr. Dr in 2018 from the same University under the supervision of Professor Kristaq Kume.
She was appointed as chairwoman of the Ethics Committee for academic research in UAMD for a mandate of 4 years.
She has been an invited professor in many national and international universities.
For three years ( 2014-2017) her research has been focused of fiscal and budgetary policies in Albania appointed by ALCDF supported by Swiss Embassy.
In 2022she was appointed as co-developer for new academic program offers in WBU.
In 2022 she was appointed as an expert on the research policy paper on Integrity of Central governmental institution as EU integration process by IDM, supported by Sweden embassy.
