The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences and Imaging is a multi-disciplinary department that draws on the clinical skills and expertise of Radiologists, Pathologists, Ultrasound Technologists and Medical Laboratory Scientist.

The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences and Imaging is a multi-disciplinary department that draws on the clinical skills and expertise of Radiologists, Pathologists, Ultrasound Technologists and Medical Laboratory Scientist. 

The Medical Laboratory Scientist examines and analyzes body fluids, tissues and cells. Work involves recognition and identification of bacteria, parasites and other organisms; analysis of chemical contents of fluids; measurements of hemoglobin and other constituents of blood, etc.

The mission of the Department is to advance the quality and availability of diagnostic imaging services to healthcare and Medical Laboratory Scientists. Our academic staff works closely with hospital specialists to deliver world-class diagnostic information to our patients. We are constantly supporting each other by working together to reach a single goal: helping patients with the highest quality of healthcare. 

The department also has the function of preparing Medical Laboratory Scientist to be able to supervise other technical staff who work in the medical laboratory, to participate in research in laboratory tests development, experimental design, administration and education, increasing their knowledge. The department contributes to the mission of the university by providing high quality service, as well as offering support in teaching, research, and consultation.
