The Bachelor Program in Laboratory Technician, educates laboratory technicians who are committed to the well-being and health of the patient. Rapid changes and developments in science and technology require the development of the field of medical diagnostics. A laboratory technician is the backbone of any healthcare team and represents the starting point for diagnosing, detecting, preventing and treating disease.
The Bachelor program in Laboratory Medical Technician is designed to provide support to health teams in Albania and the region. During this 3-year program students will gain hands-on experience working alongside medical scientists and clinical researchers in the outstanding laboratories and research spaces at the Western Balkans University. Students will be exposed to theory and practice in all areas of clinical pathology such as clinical chemistry, laboratory hematology, bacteriology, parasitology, virology, mycology, immunology, histology, transfusion, and experimental and nuclear medicine.
The curriculum of the bachelor program in Laboratory Technician provides a multidisciplinary education that emphasizes communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
