Great opportunities with Median Reha Zentrum, one of the largest networks of rehabilitation centers in Germany
A delegation of representatives of Median Reha Zentrum, one of the largest rehabilitation centers in Germany, has paid a two-day work visit in Albania.
In their first day, they visited Western Balkans University where they met with the leadership of WBU, academic staff and students from the Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy to discuss goals and future plans for cooperation between the two institutions. At the center of these discussions were the doors and opportunities for WBU students for internships, clinical practices, and future employment opportunities.
German partners explored also WBU campus, including the modern laboratories where our students carry out practical training. After appreciating WBU’s high standards of infrastructure and university’s commitment to training the professionals of the future, they emphasized the importance of joint projects that will bring mutual benefits for both parties and help raise standards in healthcare.
As part of their visit in Albania, representatives of Median Reha Zentrum were accompanied by the academic staff of the Nursing and Physiotherapy Department of WBU to American Hospital Tirana. They made a tour on important units involved in student teaching during their nursing and physiotherapy professional practices, such as: the emergency department, ICU, Cardiology wing, patient rooms, physiotherapy clinic, stroke unit and imaging testing.
Another aspect of their agenda in Tirana was also the meeting with second & third-year students of WBU, with whom they had interactive and productive discussions.
Our Nursing and Physiotherapy students were closely informed about the services and opportunities offered by their clinics in Germany, while showing a particular interest in internship programs. It was proposed to create opportunities for visits and short-term experiences during this year, aiming to familiarize interested students with the environment and work within the clinics.
Western Balkans University continues with its strong commitment to have fruitful collaborations and partnerships from which WBU students are the main beneficiaries.
