Open lecture with Dr. Leidon Shapo: Advances and Challenges in Public Health

Western Balkans University is pleased to announce an upcoming open lecture featuring Dr. Leidon Shapo, MD, MScPH, FRSPH, Senior Specialist in Public Health based in the United Kingdom.

During this session, Dr. Shapo will address some of the most pressing and timely issues in public health, including the long-term impact of COVID-19 on population health, the growing challenges posed by emerging infectious diseases, and the critical role of gut health in immunity and resilience.

With extensive professional experience across international organizations such as the WHO, UNDP, UNICEF, as well as his significant contribution to the United Kingdom’s COVID-19 response, Dr. Shapo brings a comprehensive, evidence-based perspective on vaccination policy, elderly care, and global health protection.

This lecture aims to provide students and academic staff with an informed overview of current developments in the global health landscape and the challenges that will shape the coming decades.
