Western Balkans University
Western Balkans University will hold a training programme on September 30, 2026, exploring how university research can be translated into practical applications, protected through intellectual property rights, valued and commercialised.
The programme is delivered under Tech2Link, an Erasmus+ project focused on building technology transfer capacity in the Western Balkans.
It is open to academic and administrative staff, researchers and students. No prior background in technology transfer is required.
Programme Overview
The program consists of three courses:
1. Legal and Intellectual Property Foundations of Technology Transfer
Explore intellectual property rights, patents, licensing and the contractual frameworks governing the transfer of research results from university to market.
2. Measuring Technology Transfer Success: Economic Impact, KPIs and Evaluation
Learn how to define performance indicators, assess economic and social impact, and report on the performance of technology transfer activities.
3. Startup Creation through Technology Transfer Hubs: From Research Idea to Market
Discover the path from a research result to a spin-off, including idea validation, business modelling, funding and the support available through technology transfer hubs.

Location: Western Balkans University
Format: On-site sessions, with all course materials and assessments hosted on the Tech2Link Learning Management System.
Certificate of Completion
Participants who successfully pass the final quizzes at the end of the training will receive a certificate of completion. Attendance without passing the quizzes does not qualify for a certificate.
