Western Balkans University hosted researchers, academics, and professionals from across Europe as we kicked off the CA22114 TREASURE Meeting on Maternal Perinatal Stress and Adverse Outcomes in the Offspring.
The day opened with a warm welcome and an inspiring keynote lecture by Dr. Ana Uka, Head of Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy, on “Maternal Mental Health in the Time of Crises: The Case of Ukraine”, setting a powerful tone for the two-day event.
This was followed by the official remarks of Prof. Rafael A. Caparros-Gonzalez and Prof. Susan Garthus-Niegel, and continued with a full day of engaging group sessions and knowledge exchange.
Throughout the day, participants took part in:
✔️ A progress report and discussion on the scoping review of maternal perinatal stress definitions
✔️ Parallel working group sessions (WG1–WG6) held across different rooms on campus
✔️ The Core Group Meeting to coordinate next steps and future directions of the TREASURE Action
A day full of insightful discussions, teamwork, and networking, all with the common goal of maximizing infants’ development through evidence-based research.
