
Western Balkans University hosted the event “Information Ethics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” an awareness session dedicated to students, focusing on emerging digital information challenges and the impact of technology on media and communication.
Students from various academic programs attended the session, with presentations delivered by Mr. Emirjon Senja, a media expert and head of Skyweb.al, and Prof. Erlis Çela.
During the session, Prof. Çela focused on the role of artificial intelligence and its connection to the spread of misinformation, emphasizing ethical challenges and the need for continuous information verification. In parallel, Mr. Senja addressed the influence of social media and algorithms on how information is consumed today, as well as the rapid transformation of public media habits.
The event also covered topics related to:
- information quality and source credibility,
- critical consumption of digital content,
- media self-regulation mechanisms,
- and practical tools for verifying online content in the context of intelligent technologies.
The session concluded with an open discussion with students, who shared reflections and expressed strong interest in the ethical challenges of information in the digital era, highlighting the importance of responsibility and awareness in both consuming and sharing content.
