On 26 October 2026, the Department of Pharmacy at Western Balkans University welcomed Prof. Dr. Sibel A. Özkan from the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ankara University, Türkiye, for an open lecture titled:
“Next-Generation Eco-Friendly Sensors: Integrating Nanocomposites with Molecular Imprinting.”
The lecture explored recent developments in sustainable sensor technologies, with a focus on the integration of nanocomposites and molecular imprinting techniques. Prof. Özkan highlighted their potential applications in pharmaceutical analysis, selective detection of chemical compounds, and the development of more sensitive, selective, and environmentally responsible analytical methods.
The event created a valuable space for scientific exchange and demonstrated the importance of interdisciplinary research and international academic collaboration across pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and related fields.
Through initiatives like this, WBU continues to advance scientific innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and global academic cooperation.
