Frequently Asked Questions

What grades do I need in order to study @Western Balkans University?

You must have a general high school average of at least 7 (seven) out of 10 (ten) or equal to it. For some study programs such as Medicine or Dentistry students are required to complete a specific exam organized by the university.

Do you hold interviews or is selection based entirely on student's application?

The selection is totally based on student application but we have to mention the fact that the interviews are necessary in case the student wants to apply for scholarship.

What deadlines will I have to meet?

Deadlines of the application process are depended by the regulations set by the Ministry of Education and Sports. Our institutional deadlines will be published in our website https://wbu.edu.al/en.

Is it an advantage to send my application in early?

Yes of course, early applications are prioritized. You can reserve your place by paying the application fee.

What does the course cover?

If I am not sure about the study program I will choose, is there any career adviser who can guide me?

Yes, every faculty in our university has its own career advisers, who are always willing to guide you through this process. We continuously arrange meetings between career advisers and potential students.

How many hours a week will I be in lectures/study sessions?

Every study program is formulated based on its curriculum but in general, every program's session hours are organized on an amount of 22 hours/per week.

How I will learn? Do you have a main library or each department has got its own mini-library?

In our university, there is a main library with a broad range of books, categorized in physical copies and digital ones.

How much flexibility is there? To what extent will I need/be able to find part-time work?

In general, the lecture hours are held between 09:00 - 16:00. This flexible timetable allows you to have a part time job.

Are placements or study abroad on offer?

Yes, they are. Based on partnerships with international universities, such as University of Cambridge, North American University, Sam Houston State University & Medical University of Graz, our students have the possibility to transfer their studies abroad or get a joint degree.

At the end of my studies, will I be ready to fit in the labor market?

For the first time in Albania, our university has implemented Education-Practice Integrated Curriculum project, which consists of paid practices for students since the first year of their studies. The purpose of this project is to create professionals with the proper skills to fit in the labor market. For more information, you can visit https://wbu.edu.al/en/epic.

Do you run job fairs?

Yes, our university runs job fairs at least once a year.

Does university offer accomodation?

University itself doesn't offer accomodation, but we have a partnership with Fole Residence which offers great different accommodation opportunities for our students. Currently, some of our students are accomodated there.

Are there any jobs on campus available for students?

Yes, we regularly organize competitions between students and create paid intership opportunities, in order for them to be part of university activities.

Are there any volunteering opportunities?

Yes of course, once in a while university organizes volunteering activities. For that purpose, we also have created the student club "Stronger Together".

What kind of student clubs are there in your university?

In order to fulfill our students interests and talents we have started 16 student clubs in which everyone can have the opportunity to fit in. Student Clubs are: Out of The Box, Virtual Bits, Bright Minds, Kick it Off, WBU Volleys, Anonymous Theatre, Books Worms, Agree to Disagree, Life Vectors, Game Changer, WBU Leads, Fluturo Shqipe!, Smile Please!, Green Code, Stronger Together, #WBU Colours.

What kind of scholarships do you offer and how can I apply?

Our university offers Merit-Based Scholarships and Early Bird Scholarships. You can apply for a scholarship at the link below https://wbu.edu.al/en/scholarships until 31st of March.
