At a time when the climate emergency demands bold and courageous decisions, Biotechnology students at Western Balkans University organized a thought-provoking academic debate on the topic: "Climate change legislation should be passed even without public approval, if necessary."

Drawing on the philosophies of Thomas Kuhn and Karl Popper, the debate offered a deep reflection on how critical decisions should be made in a rapidly changing world.

The debate was evaluated by a distinguished jury composed of influential experts from the fields of environmental protection, journalism, policymaking, and energy:

🔹 Olsi Nika – Director of EcoAlbania and recipient of the international Goldman Environmental Prize
🔹 Mentor Kikia – Journalist and analyst with extensive experience in public discourse
🔹 Genci Kojdheli – Director General of Strategic Planning and Economic Development at the Municipality of Tirana
🔹 Katerina Marku – Environmental engineer and expert in energy policy

At the conclusion of the debate, the Pro team was declared the winner, while the Best Speaker award was rightfully given to Klea Sinjari for her clear arguments and structured presentation.
