
Rector of Western Balkans University, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana, participated in the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Conference of Rectors.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, and 40 rectors representing public and private universities across the country.
Discussions focused on key strategic priorities guiding the development of Higher Education within the framework of Albania’s European integration process.

The conference addressed several topics of critical importance for the future of the Albanian academic system, including:
• Scientific Research, with an emphasis on strengthening institutional capacities and enhancing academic standards;
• Legal Framework, through the review and reform of the Higher Education Law
• Internationalization, as a fundamental process for profiling universities and expanding their global engagement.
