Western Balkans University hosted a comprehensive and forward-looking lecture titled “Public Health Horizons – Post-Pandemic Reality & Emerging Threats,” offering students an informed overview of the evolving global health landscape.
The session was led by Dr. Leidon Shapo, MD, MScPH, FRSPH, a distinguished Public Health Specialist with wide-ranging experience in major international institutions including the WHO, UNDP, UNICEF, as well as the UK’s national COVID-19 response.
Dr. Shapo delivered a clear and evidence-based analysis of the long-term impact of COVID-19, the rise of new infectious disease threats, and the growing importance of gut health in strengthening immunity. He also provided strategic insights into vaccination policies, elderly care, and modern health protection measures.
This lecture offered students valuable exposure to current scientific perspectives and a deeper understanding of the challenges shaping the future of public health.
