At Western Balkans University, practical medical education begins from the very first year, enabling students to develop essential skills alongside their theoretical knowledge.

As part of their Basic Medical Skills course, first-year students participate in hands-on training sessions led by experienced healthcare professionals, gaining practical knowledge of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and essential emergency response procedures.

Through interactive demonstrations and practical exercises, students learn how to respond to medical emergencies, apply appropriate first aid techniques, and perform fundamental life-saving procedures. These activities help them strengthen their clinical understanding, develop confidence, and recognise the importance of timely and effective intervention in emergency situations.

By integrating practical training into the academic curriculum from the beginning of their studies, Western Balkans University reinforces its commitment to practice-oriented medical education, preparing future healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to respond responsibly and effectively in real-world situations.
