Western Balkans University, through the Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy, successfully organized the second edition of the interuniversity competition titled “Prevention is Better than Cure,” an academic activity aimed at strengthening knowledge and raising awareness about the importance of public health and prevention.
The event brought together Nursing students from Western Balkans University, “Ismail Qemali” University of Vlora, and “Luigj Gurakuqi” University of Shkodra, who presented projects and shared ideas on current issues affecting community health, emphasizing the role of nurses in health promotion and education.
The presentations were followed by open discussions and exchanges with academic staff, creating a valuable platform for reflection on best practices in disease prevention and public health promotion.
At the conclusion of the competition, after a closely contested evaluation, the winning team was announced as the one from “Luigj Gurakuqi” University of Shkodra, recognized for their preparation and performance.
This competition is becoming an established academic tradition at Western Balkans University, fostering interuniversity collaboration, student professional development, and the strengthening of a public health culture.
