Western Balkans University hosted the second and third modules of the TECH2LINK Train-the-Trainers Programme, continuing the programme’s practical focus on technology transfer, innovation, and research commercialization.
Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edmira Cakrani, Dr. Idaver Sherifi, and Dr. Ergys Çokaj, the sessions explored how technology transfer activities can generate measurable economic and social impact and how research ideas can progress toward viable business opportunities.
Key topics included impact measurement, key performance indicators (KPIs), business idea validation, business model development, funding opportunities, and the role of Technology Transfer Hubs in supporting university spin-offs.
Building on the first module, which focused on the legal and intellectual property foundations of technology transfer, these sessions moved the discussion forward from protecting knowledge to evaluating its impact and transforming research into market-ready solutions.
The programme represents another important step in strengthening institutional capacity, innovation culture, and technology transfer practices within the academic community.
Further TECH2LINK sessions will continue as Western Balkans University expands its efforts to connect academic research with innovation, entrepreneurship, and real-world impact.
