After two enriching and collaborative days, the CA22114 TREASURE Meeting concluded with valuable scientific exchange and strengthened partnerships.
This event, hosted by Western Balkans University, brought together around 60 participants from 25 different European countries, united by a shared mission: to better understand and reduce the impact of maternal perinatal stress on infants' development.
The day began with a welcome by Dr. Ana Uka, Head of the Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy, who emphasized the university’s commitment to advancing research in maternal and child health.
The day opened with a keynote by Prof. Susan Ayers (City, University of London) titled “The Extremes of Stress: Understanding Birth Trauma and PTSD,” highlighting critical insights into maternal mental health.
Participants then joined a series of parallel sessions, covering key themes such as:
✔️ Birth cohorts, systematic reviews, and surveys
✔️ Dedicated working group discussions (WG1–WG6)
✔️ Sharing progress, aligning goals, and building future research pathways
With dynamic exchanges, interdisciplinary perspectives, and meaningful networking, Day 2 concluded a successful two-day meeting that strengthened cooperation across the COST Action community.
