
A delegation from Western Balkans University paid an official visit to UniCamillus International Medical University in Rome, Italy, as part of the university’s broader commitment to strengthening international partnerships and expanding cooperation in higher education and medical sciences.
The delegation was led by the Rector of Western Balkans University, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana, and included Prof. Assoc. Dr. Albana Halili, Vice Rector for Scientific Research and Academic Coordinator of the Medicine Program, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Erlis Çela, Vice Rector for Internationalization, Industry Relations and Communication, Dr. Brunilda Zllami, Head of the Department of Medicine, and Dr. Irma Gjana, Dean of Students.
During the visit, the WBU representatives were warmly welcomed by the Rector of UniCamillus, Gianni Profita, together with members of the university’s leadership team. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss shared priorities and explore ways to deepen academic and institutional cooperation.
An important moment of the visit was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two universities. The agreement lays the foundation for future collaboration in several areas, including student exchange and transfer opportunities, joint research initiatives, academic activities, and projects focused on the professional development of academic staff.
The WBU delegation also had the chance to visit the UniCamillus campus and learn more about the university’s educational environment, research facilities, laboratories, and teaching practices. The visit offered valuable insight into the academic and research approach of an institution that has developed a strong international profile in the field of medical and health sciences.
The visit marks another step in the ongoing internationalization efforts of Western Balkans University and reflects its intention to build meaningful partnerships with respected European universities.
