Western Balkans University invites applications for the position of Vice Dean for Clinical Educationwithin the Faculty of Medicine. 

The Vice Dean serves as a senior academic authority within the Faculty, supporting the Dean in the strategic coordination, development, and supervision of clinical education activities in accordance with the University Statute and institutional regulations. 

The Vice Dean exercises delegated academic and administrative authority from the Dean in matters related to clinical education, clinical training, and professional practice within the Faculty. 

The position requires a distinguished academic professional capable of strengthening the quality and effectiveness of clinical education, enhancing cooperation with healthcare institutions, and ensuring the integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice in medical education. 

The Vice Dean is expected to contribute to the continuous development and quality enhancement of clinical training processes, professional competencies, student clinical performance, and institutional partnerships in alignment with national and international standards in higher education and medical education.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Clinical Education and Academic Coordination 
  • Supporting the Dean in the strategic management and supervision of clinical education and training activities within the Faculty; 
  • Coordinating the implementation and continuous improvement of clinical education and professional practice components within study programs; 
  • Supporting the effective integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice and professional competencies; 
  • Coordinating clinical training activities in collaboration with departments, healthcare institutions, and clinical partners; 
  • Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of clinical teaching and student training processes; 

Clinical Partnerships and Professional Practice
 
  • Developing and strengthening cooperation agreements and partnerships with healthcare institutions and clinical training sites; 
  • Supporting the organization and supervision of clinical placements, professional practice, and student rotations; 
  • Ensuring compliance of clinical education activities with institutional standards, professional requirements, and applicable regulations; 
  • Supporting the evaluation and continuous enhancement of clinical education methodologies and professional training standards; 

Student Clinical Performance and Quality Assurance
 
  • Monitoring student performance and academic progression in clinical settings; 
  • Supporting quality assurance processes related to clinical education and professional practice; 
  • Contributing to the implementation of institutional mechanisms for evaluation and continuous improvement of clinical training activities; 

Institutional Responsibilities
 
  • Ensuring compliance with the University Statute, institutional regulations, and applicable legislation related to clinical education and higher education; 
  • Contributing to Faculty and University committees, meetings, and institutional initiatives related to clinical education and academic development; 
  • Supporting the strategic development and institutional objectives of the Faculty and the University; 
  • Representing the Faculty in clinical education matters when delegated by the Dean.

Education and Qualifications

 
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
 
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in higher education, including teaching, clinical education, and academic administration; 
  • Academic title of Professor (Prof. Dr.); 
  • Proven experience in clinical education, academic leadership, and institutional management; 
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating clinical training activities and cooperation with healthcare institutions; 
  • Strong strategic leadership, organizational, and institutional management skills; 
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills; 
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards, quality assurance systems, and higher education governance frameworks related to medical and clinical education; 
  • Native or proficient level of English.
