Position Description

Western Balkans” University is seeking to recruit a full-time Lecturer. Candidates must hold the academic title of Professor / Associate Professor in the field of Prosthodontics. The position focuses on theoretical and clinical teaching in the field of Prosthodontics, as well as supervising students during clinical practice.

The Lecturer delivers lectures, seminars, and clinical practice sessions in Prosthodontics. The position includes supervising students during prosthodontic procedures and clinical decision-making processes. Additionally, the Lecturer contributes to scientific research and the academic activities of the department, supervises diploma theses and research topics in the field of Prosthodontics, and participates in academic committees and diploma defense processes.

Participates in evaluation committees and diploma defense committees.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective interaction with students, colleagues, and external collaborators. The candidate should be able to clearly communicate scientific concepts, participate in academic discussions, and contribute to a collaborative academic environment.

The candidate is expected to independently design and conduct scientific research, publish in recognized academic journals, and contribute to the advancement of the field of expertise. The position also requires the ability to work effectively within research teams and to actively participate in interdisciplinary projects and national or international research consortia.

Job Requirements

 1.      To recognize, respect, implement and act in accordance with the legislation and regulatory acts in force; 

2.      To implement the provisions of the statute and internal regulations of the institution; 

3.      To implement the rules of ethics and discipline in the institution, avoiding any kind of action inside and outside the institution, which violates the image of the institution; 

4.      To undertake tasks related to the supervision of students, the organization of consultations and academic counseling; 

5.      To complete the tasks and the services connected in the employment contract with responsibility and quality according to the description of the nature of the work, in accordance with law no. 80/2015, dated 22.07.2015, "On higher education and scientific research in institutions of higher education in the Republic of Albania, the Statute and regulations of the institution; 

6.      To be fully engaged in the realization of administrative tasks in the department which are defined in the relevant instructions; 

7.      To respect the teaching time according to the official schedule approved for the development of lecture hours, seminars, laboratories and practices; 

8.      To fulfill the obligation to draft the subject program (syllabus) and submit it after approval by the head of the basic unit according to the instructions in force; 

9.      To increase academic professional skills and participate in training activities for this purpose; 

10.  To participate in research-scientific activities and training in accordance with his/her profile (field of study), according to the needs and determinations of the institution; 

11.  To undergo an evaluation of the performance of the academic staff; 

12.  To prepare a report of all the aspects of teaching organization of the respective discipline according to the predetermined format at the end of each academic year; 

13.  Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum; 

14.  Assist in developing learning materials, preparing work schedules and keeping records to monitor student progress, achievement and participation; 

15.  To participate in department and faculty seminars intends at presenting research works and building interdisciplinary cooperation inside and outside the department; 

16.  To implement the decisions of the governing bodies and authorities of the institution; 

17.  To respect the work schedule, use it correctly and use the lesson productively; 

18.  To commit to his academic promotion. Lecturers who have completed their studies in the "Master of Science" programs, within five years from the entry into force of the employment contract, must complete the qualifications for the benefit of the scientific degree "Doctor", in the opposite case, they leave the workplace; 

19.  To faithfully protect the legal interests of the institution, data and information, as well as professional secrets related to the institution; 

20.  To notify the employer in cases of absence with a health report and submit it to the employer within one week; 

21.  To compensate the damage caused intentionally or by his negligence to the employer's property, items or equipment used by the member of the academic staff in the performance of his duties; 

Education and Qualifications
• Assoc. Prof, Phd.   
• English language skills: Level C1.
• Involvement in research related to Prosthodontics associated fields, publications in indexed journals, participation in conferences.
