Position Description
Western Balkans University is seeking to appoint a full-time Lecturer in Mathematics to serve the Department of Computer Sciences within the Faculty of Economics, Technology and Innovation. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and academic support to students in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the department. The candidate is expected to be specialized in one or more areas of applied and pure mathematics, possessing advanced theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as experience in teaching and academic research. The candidate should be capable of delivering both theoretical lectures and practical sessions, and of supervising student projects and theses.
Given that the Department of Computer Sciences hosts undergraduate and graduate study programs in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, and Cyber Security, the candidate is expected to teach mathematics in a practice-oriented manner, connecting mathematical theory to computational thinking, algorithms, data analysis, cryptography, and software systems. The candidate must be able to lead both theoretical and practical classes and to demonstrate advanced scientific and pedagogical skills appropriate to this field.
