Position Description

Western Balkans University is seeking to hire a part-time Assistant Lecturer in Organic Chemistry to provide teaching and academic support for students in the Dental Technician program. The lecturer is expected to specialize in Organic Chemistry, having in-depth knowledge of the structure and function of molecules, classes and mechanisms of organic reactions, synthesis of organic compounds, and to pass on this knowledge to students.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth and improvement of academic and professional quality, as well as helping students develop their practical and theoretical skills in this important field.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

To know, respect, implement, and act in accordance with the current legislation and regulatory acts in force;
To implement the provisions of the statute and the internal regulations of the institution;
To adhere to the ethical and disciplinary rules within the institution, avoiding any actions inside or outside the institution that harm its image;
To fully engage in the realization of academic and administrative duties within the department, as defined in the relevant guidelines;
To respect time for teaching according to the official schedule approved for lectures, seminars, laboratories, and practicals;
To undergo performance evaluation as part of the academic staff;
To report at the end of each academic year on all aspects of teaching organization for the respective discipline according to the predetermined format;
To prepare teaching materials, update teaching materials and syllabi, and keep notes to monitor student progress, achievements, and participation;
To participate in department and faculty activities aimed at presenting research work and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department;
To undertake continued academic training with the next degree, within 3-5 years from the moment of obtaining the current degree;
To contribute to group work within the department, faculty, or “Western Balkans” University;
Not to exploit professional relationships with students for private purposes or to use students’ help for private goals as it constitutes a conflict of interest and illegal influence;
To participate in scientific research activities on behalf of the university.

Education and Qualifications

Must hold a Master of Science degree
Proficiency in English: C1 level
