Position Description
Western Balkans University is seeking to hire a Part-Time Lecturer in Medical Physiology to deliver teaching and academic support for students in the Dentistry program. The lecturer is expected to have a degree in General Medicine and specialization in a medical field, with expertise in explaining the functions and regulation of the body’s major systems and how the human organism coordinates different systems. The candidate should also possess strong knowledge of cellular-level functions and homeostatic balance mechanisms at both cellular and systemic levels.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Recognize, respect, implement, and act in compliance with the legislation and internal legal acts in force.
  2. Adhere to the provisions of the institution’s statute and internal regulations.
  3. Follow ethical and disciplinary rules within the institution, avoiding any actions inside or outside the institution that could harm its image.
  4. Undertake tasks related to student supervision, academic consultations, and advisory sessions.
  5. Engage in administrative duties within the department as outlined in the relevant guidelines.
  6. Adhere to the official teaching schedule for lectures, seminars, laboratories, and practical sessions.
  7. Develop and submit course syllabi upon approval by the head of the academic unit, following the applicable guidelines.
  8. Enhance academic and professional skills and participate in professional development activities.
  9. Participate in scientific research activities and training aligned with their field of study, as needed by the institution.
  10. Undergo performance evaluation as an academic staff member.
  11. Submit an annual report on all aspects of teaching organization for the respective discipline, following the prescribed format.
  12. Contribute to the development, planning, updating, and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
  13. Assist in creating teaching materials, maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievements, and participation, and updating teaching materials and syllabi.
  14. Attend departmental and faculty seminars aimed at presenting research work and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration within and beyond the department.
  15. Participate in the development, administration, and grading of exams and other assessments.
  16. Contribute to team efforts within the department, faculty, or Western Balkans University.

Education and Qualifications
  • Degree in General Medicine
  • Minimum academic qualification: PhD or an academic title
  • English language proficiency: C1 level
  • Relevant certifications and qualifications
