Position Description

Western Balkans University is seeking to engage a Part-time Lecturer in Biostatistics to provide teaching and academic support for students in the Dentistry program.

The lecturer is expected to be specialized in Biostatistics, proficient in studying and distributing variables, applying statistical tests, constructing graphs and diagrams, performing descriptive statistical calculations, hypothesis testing, and utilizing statistical software such as SPSS or Matlab.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth and enhancement of academic and professional quality while helping students develop their practical and theoretical skills in this crucial field.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

Recognize, respect, implement, and act in accordance with the applicable legislation and internal legal acts in force.
Comply with the provisions of the statute and internal regulations of the institution.
Adhere to ethical and disciplinary rules within the institution, avoiding any actions, both inside and outside the institution, that could harm its image.
Undertake responsibilities related to student supervision, organization of consultations, and academic advising.
Engage in carrying out administrative duties within the department as outlined in the relevant guidelines.
Adhere to the official teaching schedule for lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions, and practical training.
Fulfill the obligation of preparing the course syllabus and submitting it for approval to the head of the academic unit in accordance with the applicable guidelines.
Enhance professional academic skills and participate in formative activities for this purpose.
Participate in research activities and training in line with their academic profile (field of study), as required and determined by the institution.
Undergo performance evaluation as part of the academic staff.
Report at the end of each academic year on all aspects of teaching organization for the respective discipline, following the predefined format.
Contribute to the development, planning, updating, and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
Assist in developing teaching materials, maintaining student progress records, and updating course content and syllabi.
Participate in department and faculty seminars aimed at presenting research work and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department.
Take part in the development, administration, and evaluation of exams and other assessments.
Contribute to teamwork within the department, faculty, or Western Balkans University.

Education and Qualifications

Minimum academic degree: PhD or an academic title
English proficiency: C1 level
Certifications and qualifications in Biostatistics
